LOVE, THE MAXIMUM EXPRESSION OF HUMAN FEELINGS

This art exhibition will present five artworks made by María José Romero, who is in eleventh grade at Colegio Tilatá. These works are made for the entire public and the common thread of this exhibition is Love. I decided to do this theme because for me love is something very important in life, without saying that the most. During these two years, I wanted to show different artworks love in different phases. To begin with, the first artwork to be presented will be Just a Kiss, which is the interpretation of Edvard munch's work, The Kiss. This work is a clear symbolization of what love is within that physical activity that occurs uniting two people in a sentimental and physical way with only their lips; the technique needed to make this artwork was vinyl on canvas. Continuing, the second artwork that will be presented is Heart vs. Mind, which is an artwork that shows a side of love, confusion, entanglement, the desire between two people and how their minds and hearts merging to make a decision about love practically explode and they will never agree, creating what I mentioned earlier; the technique used was Virtual collage. Then, the third artwork that is The Force Shines that shows another face of love and represents how strong it is sometimes and unbreakable like a diamond; the technique used was markers and vinyl on cardboard. The artwork that follows is the fourth that is Love control, this artwork is connected with the movie Stranger than fiction and shows a not so cute side of love as this can become controlled by someone and this is seen by the titles found in this; the technique used on this occasion was Virtual collage. And finally, the last artwork is We are all the same, this artwork was a social intervention where it shows people through inclusion phrases such as love does not have a single form and is shown from several; the technique that was used was vinyl on cardboard. To finish, this exhibition is organized in this way to show the process and development of the works to the viewers and that is why María José decided to organize it this way, in a chronological way because for each part of her process was very important to her.

Title: Just one kiss

Date: Septiembre-Octubre, 2018

Technique: Vinyl on canvas

Measurements: 39x35cm

Author: María José Romero N.

This artwork is a reinterpretation of Edvard Munch's painting, The Kiss. This work explicitly represents love through an action between two people, this work not only represents a kiss but the union and closeness of two people when they are in love, it represents the way in which they understand each other and flow with all those feelings of being in love, in this action they express what they feel and they manage to connect like never before with another person. This action is one of the clearest to represent love in all their forms.

Title: Heart vs Mind

Date: Junio, 2019

Technique: Digital collage

Measurements: 32x47cm

Author: María José Romero N.

This artwork was intended to represent clearly something that everyone at some point in life has experienced, shows how love or being in love or liking someone includes both the heart and the mind in a constant war regarding decision-making, how an internal war is formed in both people by the confusion of what they feel, think and whether or not they want to do. This represents not only the confusion of an individual when in love, but also a couple that has the same things that I have mentioned before, they have thoughts and feelings that sometimes do not let them act in the way they really want because the person sometimes thinks more with their heart than with their mind or in the opposite way.

Title: The Force Shines

Date: October 2019

Technique: Markers and vinyl on cardboard

Measurements: 49x49cm

Author: María José Romero N.

This artwork represents a diamond, which is the strongest rock in the world and it can only be broken with another diamond. Therefore, this work in terms of love represents how strong it can be and how this feeling can last forever. In addition, we know that diamond, in general, is transparent, but this is pink and the reason for this color is very important since the pink in love represents charm, kindness, sweetness, romanticism, and illusion.

Title: Love Control

Date: Enero, 2020

Technique: Digital collage

Measurements: 25x35cm

Author: María José Romero N.

This artwork is based on and related to Marc Foster's movie Stranger than Fiction, where complete control of a writer is shown in the life of a real person since this person was her main character in her

character in her story. For that reason, I decided to make this work of art because one of the things that we can see in love is control and there are people who have unfortunately happened with it, being in love or liking someone produces that strong feeling that leads you to let yourself control or even be the one who controls the other person. At dusk, a sunset landscape is represented that is very symbolic of love and the puppets represented love control over you or another person when handling their thoughts and feelings.

Title: We are all equal

This artwork is based on different colored posters that have phrases about love and inclusion, the colors of these posters are based on the LGBTQ flag. This work of art was a social intervention in the Tilatá School where these posters were placed around the entire school with the aim of m

entire school with the aim of making people feel loved and included in the community with whom they have to share practically most of our time. We can clearly see that this project is completely related to love because it is what seeks to convey the message that you are loved and accepted as you are, the message of being comfortable in a place that you frequent daily.
